On this photo tour we will take you to some of the best photography locations that Switzerland has to offer. You will photograph the world-famous Matterhorn and the iconic Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains in the Bernese Oberland. You will also visit typical Swiss villages and idyllic valleys as well as two of Switzerland’s most beautiful cities – Lucerne and Zurich.
Over the past eight years, we have conducted more than 400 photography tours in many beautiful parts of the world and held over 300 workshops in Switzerland. We are now very excited to use all the knowledge we gained in the past years and offer an international photography tour in our home country. Of course, there is no other place we know better than Switzerland!

The most beautiful impressions from Switzerland
1
Day 1 – From Zurich to Zermatt
We will meet at 11 am in Zurich. If you are flying into Zurich, you will need to arrive in Zurich by 8:30 am at the latest. If this is not possible, we recommend that you arrive one day early. We will be happy to book a hotel for you.
We will then travel to Zermatt in our comfortable van. The duration of this trip is about four hours and takes you through stunning landscape. During the journey, we will also load our vehicle onto a train and cross through part of the Swiss Alps. We will arrive in Zermatt in the afternoon.
Zermatt is the ultimate mountain village. It offers breathtaking views of the majestic Matterhorn and its car-free streets are lined with 500-year-old wooden houses, shops, cafés and bars. Various different paths lead straight into the wild mountain landscape at the foot of the Matterhorn.
During the blue hour in the evening, we will photograph the Matterhorn from a fantastic viewpoint, hopefully in its best light.

Day 2 – Zermatt
In the morning, your photography guides will brief you on what you can expect from the rest of the tour – and of course, they also will share plenty of tips and tricks for your photography over the coming days.
We will then take a mountain railway and a gondola up to the mountain and we will check into a charming mountain hut. From our location you will have amazing views of the majestic Matterhorn – perhaps Europe’s most famous mountain – and enjoy the Alpine panorama. There is a fantastic view of the Matterhorn from the hut itself, even from most of the rooms too.
After the early supper, we head out to take great shots at sunset, dawn and night. Only a 20-minutes walk from the hut we will shoot at a very scenic lake. With a bit of luck the famous Matterhorn will reflect in the lake. If the sky is clear, we can also capture fantastic photos of the night sky with the Milky way (depending on the moon phase).

Day 3 – From Zermatt to Lauterbrunnen Valley
Today we set off before sunrise in order to be in the right place at the right time. After a sunrise photo session with a fantastic view of the Matterhorn, we head back to the hut to get some strength from breakfast.
We will then check out and take the mountain gondola and railway back to Zermatt. You will be driven to the Bernese Oberland in our van. We are sure that you will love this region with its imposing mountains and idyllic villages.
You will be staying in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, one of the most impressive valleys in the Alps. The valley lies between rocky cliffs and peaks and is dotted with 72 roaring waterfalls and colourful Alpine meadows.
Once again, we will take you to the most beautiful photo spots. You will photograph the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and other iconic mountains.

Days 4 - 5 – Meiringen and Rosenlaui
Today, we will travel to Meiringen in the Hasli Valley in the heart of Switzerland. The short journey will take us straight through the beautiful mountainous landscape.
The next two days, your guides will once again take you to picturesque photo spots, including a wild mountain valley and a glacier gorge. Marvel at powerful waterfalls and strange rock formations. For thousands of years, the glacial waters have been shaping the rock into a work of art.
The Rosenlaui Valley also provides incredible photo opportunities with its romantic landscape, rushing streams, wild waterfalls and rugged mountaintops. You are sure to be inspired by the scenery. Depending on the weather we will also visit a beautiful alpine landscape with a lake surrounded with mountains.

Day 6 – Lucerne
After a morning photo session, we will leave the mountains behind us and travel to Lucerne. For locals (and many others), it is without doubt one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Lucerne is situated on the lake of the same name, surrounded by an impressive mountain landscape. Its pretty old town is lined with historical houses decorated with frescos, as well as imposing 17th-century churches. The symbol of the city is the world-famous Chapel Bridge and its water tower. In addition to its traditional old town, Lucerne also has a modern side, showcasing innovative design. One of its architectural highlights is the futuristic Culture and Congress Centre.
You will photograph the famous Chapel Bridge as well as the idyllic lake and mountain panorama.
If the weather conditions are good, we will also take a trip into the countryside to capture a unique landscape. A picture-perfect hilly landscape awaits, with rolling hills crowned with lone linden trees. It’s a photographer’s dream.

Day 7 - Zurich
We will, of course, also photograph Lucerne at sunrise. You will then have some time to stroll through the beautiful old town.
Later, we will set off for the last stop on our tour.
We will visit Zurich, Switzerland’s most cosmopolitan city, where you will have further opportunities to add to your portfolio. You can be assured that we will take you to the most photogenic spots Zurich has to offer.

Day 8 - End of photo tour
The photo tour ends after breakfast, when you can depart for your onward journey or your journey home.
Accommodation
One of the highlights is the charming mountain hut you are staying during the second night in Zermatt. You will enjoy a breath-taking view to the Matterhorn directly from the hotel. In Lucerne you are staying at a premier location very close to the lake with an amazing view on the mountain panorama.
