What our clients say

Isabella

I had to wait 2 years for this workshop. But it was worth it. Ireland and its landscapes are simply beautiful. The whole thing was rounded off by a friendly group and great guides who kept us on our toes. Despite lack of sleep, we arrived home happy, satisfied and with many great impressions and pictures. A big thank you to Jenny and Bernard for an all-round successful trip!

Personal, professionally guided photo tour where I felt very well looked after. The tour guide was always available with tips and tricks for questions or assistance. Fun and cosiness were not neglected. Top choice of spots and accommodation. The guide went to incredible lengths to ensure that we found the best conditions.

Ireland - Kerry, Dingle & Wicklow I can highly recommend for landscape photographers. The support by Jenny and Bernard was great. Bernard, the photographer from Ireland, led us to many enchanted places that you would never find as a tourist. The visit in a rustic pub was very funny. Our group harmonized very well. Unfortunately the week was over way too quickly. We will gladly be back with Amazing Views again another time.

Margrit

Beautiful destination, extremely aesthetic landscape. Due to the rapidly changing conditions, there are atmospheric shots in the morning and evening. Good small group size with different characters, was happy to get to know all of them. Top organized and personally attended by the owner. I felt that I was in the best hands. Enchantingly charming.

All good things come in threes – after experiencing Scotland, Croatia/Slovenia, this is absolutely true for the Ireland tour to Kerry, Dingle & Wicklow! Each of these areas offers something for everyone and even if two of them are very similar, they all have their own charm. If you have a guide with you who not only knows his trade, knows the country like the back of his hand, coupled with a great group of different people who nevertheless fit together very well, then the recipe for a great week in an incredibly beautiful landscape is perfect! By the way, the saying would have to be extended in this case: all good things come in threes - and even more! Ireland, Jenny & Bernard, we'll see you again, a Guiness (I'll stick to the pale ;)) on it!

An unforgettable week! The trip was excellently organized and the selection of the photo locations was very successful. As a beginner I was always supported by Jenny or Bernard in a competent, helpful and patient way and I also got many helpful tips. Many thanks for this great week in beautiful Ireland.

Isabella

Ireland, the "green island", fascinated me with its breath-taking landscapes. I could not get enough of the many facets of the green colour, the steep cliffs, the picturesque lighthouses and the countless sheep pastures. In short: My memory card was glowing... The perfect organisation and supervision by Jenny and Bernard made this trip an unforgettable, instructive and entertaining experience. A big thank you for the great trip.

Ireland North - Wild Atlantic Way & Causeway Costal Route, April 2019

Philipp

The variety of landscapes and the pure nature in the north of the island was very impressive and offered countless photo motives. I was not only fascinated by the beautiful landscapes, but also by the energy, passion and great commitment of the two photographers/guides Jennifer and Bernard. Thanks to their professional planning and organisation we were able to photograph/explore the beautiful locations of the region under the best possible weather and light conditions. We experienced so much during this week, time flew by. Even as an ambitious photographer I was able to learn a lot and always felt as in good hands. It was simply fun. Thanks a lot!

Day 1 – Arrival to Ireland and drive to County Donegal

Individual travel to Dublin. We meet at Dublin Airport during the morning. Afterwards we will head northwest to County Donegal with a comfortable minivan. The next 4 nights we will stay in Letterkenny.
The untouched and secluded Donegal is still far away from the big tourist streams and is a paradise for nature lovers. Look forward to wild and rough landscapes with dark mountain lakes, idyllic country roads and a winding coast with impressive cliffs and dreamlike sandy beaches.
We will put together the exact daily programme for the next few days on site at short notice in order to be able to respond to the respective weather and lighting conditions. We will mainly be on the road photographing during the sunrise and sunset.
Due to the small size of the group, we can optimally respond to your individual needs and discuss photographic topics of your choice and immediately put them into practice (e.g. long-term exposures, use of filters, photography at night, etc.). We will also have time for image discussions or tutorials on image editing.

Day 2 to 4 – Wild Atlantic way

We spend three full days in the northwest of Ireland.
Among other things you will discover and have a chance to photograph the north-western part of the Wild Atlantic Way. The wild west coast of Ireland is the longest coastal route in the world and its section here in Donegal is particularly beautiful. Here nature plays the leading role: from the impressive cliffs, impressive rock arches amidst rushing waves, picturesque lighthouses, dramatic landscapes to the aurora borealis, which can dance across the sky in clear nights.
A visit to the Glenveagh National Park, which is reminiscent of a landscape from JRR Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings", will also be included during our stay. The highest mountain of Donegal, the majestic Mount Errigal, towers over this beautiful landscape.

Day 5 and 6 – Off to the east to the Causeway Costal Route

Today we continue to Northern Ireland to the legendary Causeway Coastal Route. This stretches from Derry - Londonderry to Belfast and leads to some of Ireland's most famous landmarks such as the Giant's Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage site of 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns falling into the thundering ocean.
The region of the Causeway Costal Route is a true paradise, with countless sandy beaches, fishing villages, green valleys and enchanted castle ruins, offering fantastic photo opportunities. It's no wonder that you can follow in the footsteps of Game of Thrones. Many scenes from this award-winning TV series were shot here in Northern Ireland.
The next two days we’ll be on the move from the sunrise to sunset. If the weather doesn't play along, this won't prevent us from taking pictures. Especially when the sky is overcast, the roaring surf of the sea, cliffs and castles can be excellently photographed and result in atmospheric, mystical pictures.

Day 7 – Return towards Dublin to Portmarnock

After the eventful days you will travel south again today. On the last evening you will stay overnight in a beautiful hotel not far from the airport. The hotel is located directly at the sea and its immediate surroundings offer many great opportunities for our last photo sessions. Not far from the hotel you will find a great beach, lighthouses, a castle and cliffs. The perfect place to end the photo trip to Ireland.

Day 8 – End of the tour

Today is the end of the Photo Tour Ireland. We will get back to Dublin airport on time to catch our flights back home.

Portballintrae, Northern Ireland

The idyllic town of Portballintrae offers the perfect location to discover the most beautiful locations along the Causeway Costal Route. Our hotel overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and is located in the heart of the picturesque harbour village. The hotel has a restaurant and a cosy bar. The hotel offers spacious and comfortable rooms with WLAN, TV, safe, coffee/tea and bathroom.

The hotel has 2 restaurants, a cosy bar, wellness area, massage, fitness room and sauna. Dublin Airport is only a 15-minute drive away. The rooms overlooking the sea, garden or golf course have internet access and tea and coffee facilities.

Weather

The Irish weather is always bit of a surprise. Sun, clouds and rain keeps changing. Perfect for photography! The months from April to mid-June has normally most sunny days and are therefore considered the best travel time for Ireland. In spring, from March to May, the average maximum temperature is between 8 and 15°C. April is considered particularly pleasant.

Clothing

In Ireland the weather can change very quickly. Wind, sun, rain and rarely snow can occur in both spring and autumn. We therefore recommend breathable functional clothing based on the layer principle, which transports perspiration to the outside layers without losing heat and dries quickly. Well-worn hiking shoes with an appropriate profile sole are also important. Make sure to bring rain jacket and rain trousers to keep you dry in case of rain. If you also want to take pictures from the water at the photo locations, we strongly recommend taking waterproof boots or sandals / crocs (Attention: the water can be very cold at this time of year).

Condition

The trip does not require any special physical requirements. We will make short hikes to the photo locations. Some photo locations may be exposed. If you are afraid of heights, there is always the possibility to photograph from a little further back.

Course of action of the photo tour

We will put together the exact daily program on site at short notice in order to be able to deal with the respective weather and light conditions. To make sure you can capture shots at the right time with the right light in the golden and blue hours, we will be outside especially during the sunrise and sunset times. In between, during lunch or in the afternoon, you will have free time to take a rest, explore the surroundings or take part in photo discussions and tutorials. If fantastic weather and lighting conditions arises, we can also add another photo session in the afternoon.

Double room

Single travellers can book half of a double room. If there is no other guest who wants to share the room, the single room surcharge will apply.

Insurance

It is strongly recommended to have a cancellation insurance and return travel insurance, which covers evacuation, local hospitalisation and return travel costs to Switzerland in the event of an emergency.
