Photo Tour India

This unique photo tour combines fantastic opportunities to photograph tigers in the wild and visit some of India’s iconic highlights.

Ranthambore National Park offers currently the best opportunities to observe and photograph tigers and other wildlife in India. The photo tour takes place in the end of February. From our point of view the ideal travel time for tiger watching. The dry season is already in full swing. This increases the chances of tiger sightings. At this time of the year the light is still nice and soft in the early morning and late afternoon and it is also not unbearably hot like in April and May.

The attractive program also includes a visit to the impressive Taj Mahal in Agra and the “Pink City” Jaipur with its lively bazaars, colourful squares and impressive forts. Another highlight of this tour is a visit to Varanasi, the oldest city in India and the cosmic centre of Hinduism. You will have a chance to photograph colourful and radiant Hindu ceremonies on the banks of the river, impressive portraits of Sadhus and pilgrims and to take a boat trip on the holy river Ganges.

What our clients say

Manfred

A beautiful country with open, friendly and sociable people. There were so many new impressions and photo motives every day that after a short time the everyday life seemed far away. Jenny and the local tour guide organized everything super and showed us participants many beautiful places and it allowed us to concentrate on the situation and on taking pictures. A great trip with Amazing Views through Myanmar, I can only recommend it to everyone!

Jürgen & Sonja

We found Jenny’ s kind, calm & competent support, Organization of the buses and hotels very good. Also, the 2 days with the friendly, dedicated professional photographers gave us a lot. The golden rock was overwhelming, also because we had 2 days’ time. Unforeseen encounters with a village festival or the nuns were impressive.

Stephan

Myanmar is definitely worth a trip for a photographer. For the duration of the tour the number of stops is appropriate and there is enough time for taking pictures. The people are great - if you give them a smile, you will get a smile back. I hope that it will stay like that. The group size with a maximum of 8 people is also perfect for taking pictures with the local photo professionals. An absolute highlight is the balloon flight over Bagan, simply unforgettable.

Denise

Extensive journey. Impressive were not only the buildings and nature, but above all the friendly, open and sociable people. Exciting were also the two days with local professional photographers, who gave insights into their work. The active teaching on the second day was also instructive and stimulating.

3

Day 3 – Fabulous Taj Mahal

After breakfast you will be driven to Agra (about 4 hours’ drive) and check into your hotel. Before sunset you will be in time for the fabulous Taj Mahal, where you can photograph this impressive monument in the beautiful soft light.
The great mogul Shah Jahan had this impressive building built as a mausoleum for himself and his wife. Everyone who enters the garden for the first time is enraptured by the perfect harmony that results from the symmetry and detail that has been executed down to the smallest detail. Both the Red Fort and the Taj Mahal are monuments of the UNESCO World Heritage.

Day 5 to 8 – Ranthambore National Park

During the next days you will go on a game drive in the park in the morning and in the afternoon. Only two of you will share a safari vehicle. This enables enough space to take pictures. The enchanting landscape of woods and grassland offers excellent opportunities for game viewing. With a little luck you will soon see and photograph the first tigers or other wildlife.
The Ranthambore National Park is one of the largest national parks in India. It is known for its regular and spectacular tiger sightings. In addition, many other animal species and more than 300 bird species live in the park. Ranthambore was the hunting ground of a Maharajah until 1970 and since then it is a protected area. The beautiful nature and landscape dotted with old, dilapidated Maharajah palaces combined with the incredibly rich fauna has something magical about it. Some places remind one of Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book. We have purchased full day permits for the game drives in the national park for two days. You can be in the parks from sunrise to sunset and will have an excellent chance to get unique wildlife images.
With 2 full day permits you maximize your chances
In Ranthambore National Park you will benefit from full day permits for two days. This means you stay in the park all day and have the greatest potential for tiger sightings. Furthermore, only a very limited number of such permits are issued per day and there will be practically no vehicles on the road between the official game drive times.

Day 9 and 10 – Jaipur the "Pink City"

In the morning a last game drive takes place in the Ranthambore. Afterwards the journey continues towards Jaipur. During the afternoon you will arrive in Jaipur and check into your hotel. Discover this vibrant city with your camera and take pictures of colourful bazaars, palaces and temples in the best light. Jaipur is also known as "Pink City". On the occasion of a visit by Prince Albert of England in the 19th century, all the houses in the old town had to be painted in the traditional colour of hospitality.
On the second day you will again discover the beautiful palaces and fortresses of Jaipur. In the early morning you will visit the majestic Amber Fort, which towers high above Jaipur. During the day you have countless opportunities to capture the hustle and bustle of this colourful city.

Day 11 – From Jaipur to Varanasi

In the morning you will visit a flower market and the famous Palace of the Winds in Jaipur. Afterwards you will fly to Varanasi. Varanasi is one of the oldest cities in the world and is considered the holiest city in Hinduism. In Hindu mythology Varanasi is considered the cosmic center of the universe. No wonder Varanasi is the spiritual capital of India and attracts countless Hindu pilgrims who bathe here in the holy water of the Ganges and perform funeral rituals. In the winding streets of the city are about 2,000 temples, including the "Golden Temple" Kashi Vishwanath, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.
The American writer Mark Twain spoke of Varanasi as follows: "Varanasi is older than history, older than tradition, older than legend, and looks twice as old as all these things put together."
In the evening you will explore the alleys of the old city and take pictures of a religious ceremony along the Ganges.
