What our clients say

Isabella

I had to wait 2 years for this workshop. But it was worth it. Ireland and its landscapes are simply beautiful. The whole thing was rounded off by a friendly group and great guides who kept us on our toes. Despite lack of sleep, we arrived home happy, satisfied and with many great impressions and pictures. A big thank you to Jenny and Bernard for an all-round successful trip!

Personal, professionally guided photo tour where I felt very well looked after. The tour guide was always available with tips and tricks for questions or assistance. Fun and cosiness were not neglected. Top choice of spots and accommodation. The guide went to incredible lengths to ensure that we found the best conditions.

Ireland - Kerry, Dingle & Wicklow I can highly recommend for landscape photographers. The support by Jenny and Bernard was great. Bernard, the photographer from Ireland, led us to many enchanted places that you would never find as a tourist. The visit in a rustic pub was very funny. Our group harmonized very well. Unfortunately the week was over way too quickly. We will gladly be back with Amazing Views again another time.

Beautiful destination, extremely aesthetic landscape. Due to the rapidly changing conditions, there are atmospheric shots in the morning and evening. Good small group size with different characters, was happy to get to know all of them. Top organized and personally attended by the owner. I felt that I was in the best hands. Enchantingly charming.

All good things come in threes – after experiencing Scotland, Croatia/Slovenia, this is absolutely true for the Ireland tour to Kerry, Dingle & Wicklow! Each of these areas offers something for everyone and even if two of them are very similar, they all have their own charm. If you have a guide with you who not only knows his trade, knows the country like the back of his hand, coupled with a great group of different people who nevertheless fit together very well, then the recipe for a great week in an incredibly beautiful landscape is perfect! By the way, the saying would have to be extended in this case: all good things come in threes - and even more! Ireland, Jenny & Bernard, we'll see you again, a Guiness (I'll stick to the pale ;)) on it!

An unforgettable week! The trip was excellently organized and the selection of the photo locations was very successful. As a beginner I was always supported by Jenny or Bernard in a competent, helpful and patient way and I also got many helpful tips. Many thanks for this great week in beautiful Ireland.

Ireland, the "green island", fascinated me with its breath-taking landscapes. I could not get enough of the many facets of the green colour, the steep cliffs, the picturesque lighthouses and the countless sheep pastures. In short: My memory card was glowing... The perfect organisation and supervision by Jenny and Bernard made this trip an unforgettable, instructive and entertaining experience. A big thank you for the great trip.

The variety of landscapes and the pure nature in the north of the island was very impressive and offered countless photo motives. I was not only fascinated by the beautiful landscapes, but also by the energy, passion and great commitment of the two photographers/guides Jennifer and Bernard. Thanks to their professional planning and organisation we were able to photograph/explore the beautiful locations of the region under the best possible weather and light conditions. We experienced so much during this week, time flew by. Even as an ambitious photographer I was able to learn a lot and always felt as in good hands. It was simply fun. Thanks a lot!

Day 1 – Arrival in the Faroe Islands

You travel individually to the Faroe Islands where we meet at Vágar Airport in the late afternoon (depending on flight times). You will then be driven to the capital Tórshavn. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. You will check into the hotel and be introduced to the week ahead. Depending on the arrival times of the flights, we will already be able to photograph outside today.

Day 2 to 6 – En route to unique highlights on the Faroe Islands

We will depart daily from our hotel to the different photo locations on the islands. The Faroe Islands are a dream for anyone who likes to photograph landscapes. There are countless photo motifs.
Look forward to, among other things, an unforgettable hike to the largest lake in the Faroes, where a waterfall pours over 35 metres down into the open Atlantic. Or photograph picturesque fjords surrounded by high mountains, hobbit-like cottages overgrown with lawns, rugged cliffs rising steeply from the sea and much more. The vast nature of the Faroe Islands will inspire you.
We will arrange the exact daily programme on site at short notice in order to be able to respond to the respective weather and light conditions. You will mainly be out and about at sunrise and sunset or, if the sky is overcast, you will also be able to capture impressive seascape shots during the day. Our photo guides will lead you to the most beautiful photo locations. Bernard travels to the Faroe Islands several times a year and knows the islands extremely well.
Due to the small group size, we can optimally respond to your individual needs and discuss photographic topics of your choice and immediately put them into practice (e.g. long exposures, use of filters, etc.). We will also have time for image discussions or tutorials on image processing.

Day 7 – End of the photo tour

Accommodation

Our hotel is located in the heart of Tórshavn and has a restaurant, coffee shop / café, snack bar, wellness and fitness area, bar and communal lounge. Facilities also include free Wi-Fi in the public areas. All 130 rooms at the recently reopened hotel have underfloor heating, LCD TVs, coffee makers and hairdryers.
Being centrally located in the Faroe Islands, the hotel is an ideal base for our daily photography excursions.

Weather

Thanks to the Gulf Stream, there are no extreme differences in climate between the seasons on the Faroe Islands. The climate is characterised by mild temperatures. In spring, the average temperature is about 5 °C. The weather on the Faroe Islands is always good for a surprise. Sun, clouds and rain always alternate. In particular, you have to expect a lot of wind all year round. Perfect for photography for beautiful light moods and lots of movement in the sea. Due to the often very strong weather changes, it is not surprising that the weather has a great influence on daily life on the Faroe Islands. The locals often answer questions like whether there is a ferry, a helicopter or an excursion with "kanska" (maybe). So you should definitely bring a certain flexibility with you when you travel to the Faroe Islands.

Clothing

Due to the frequent weather changes, you definitely need to be prepared for all eventualities. We therefore recommend breathable functional clothing using the onion principle, which transports perspiration to the outside without losing heat and dries quickly.
Well-worn, waterproof walking shoes with appropriate tread soles are essential for the Faroes. The meadows can often be damp and swampy in places. You should always have a rain jacket and rain trousers in your rucksack so that you can react quickly in the event of a change of weather.
We also recommend bringing waterproof boots if possible. This can help capture impressive shots on beaches, for example.

Fitness

The tour is not particularly physically demanding. However, you should be fit enough to participate in moderate hikes on the local trails and be sure-footed, as beaches are sometimes somewhat uneven with rocks and stones. Many photo locations are easily accessible by car or a short hike. Certain locations may involve a walking time of 1 - 2 hours each way. The trails are mostly on flat terrain or involve a slight incline.
There are trails that follow steep coastlines and slopes and offer breathtaking views. Certain sections or individual photo locations may be a little exposed. A certain amount of head for heights helps. However, if you are afraid of heights, there is always the option of photographing from an alternative vantage point. Our photo guides will help you find a location that is safe for you.
Some walking routes in the Faroe Islands have introduced access restrictions and require payment to enter the area. All fees are included in the tour price. There are no additional costs for you.

Photo tour schedule

We will arrange the exact daily programme on location at short notice in order to be able to respond to the respective weather and light conditions. To ensure that you capture images at the right time with the right light for the respective location, we will be outdoors especially at sunrise and sunset times. If the sky is overcast, we will also drive to suitable locations during the day. In between, you will also have time (as desired) to participate in image discussions and tutorials or to rest during a short break.

Sunrise and sunset

During the photography tour, the sun will rise at approximately 6:15am and set at approximately 8:30pm.

Accommodation

The standard of hotels in the Faroe Islands is similar to that in Iceland. Some of the rooms are smaller than usual in other countries.

Double room

Single travellers can book half of a double room. If there is no other guest who wants to share the room, the single room surcharge will apply.

Entry requirements Ireland

Swiss, German and Austrian citizens require a valid passport or identity card for stays of up to 3 months. Swiss citizens are on an equal footing with EU citizens and can carry out passport control at the specially designated EU counter.

Insurance

It is strongly recommended to have a cancellation insurance and return travel insurance, which covers evacuation, local hospitalisation and return travel costs to Switzerland in the event of an emergency.
