The picturesque landscapes of Tuscany are a paradise for photography. Join us in the marvellous Val d’Orcia in Tuscany. With over 20 years of experience in the region, we know the local weather conditions inside out and know which photo location works best in which weather. The Val d’Orcia is like a second home to us and we know the area inside out.
We will spend 4 nights in a small, charming hotel in Pienza in Val d’Orcia. The picturesque Val d’Orcia stands out as having one of the most beautiful sceneries in the whole of Tuscany. The region offers an unbelievably large range of fantastic opportunities for photography which includes typical landscapes with the classic green hills, farms with alleys of cypress trees, villas, chapels and small, untouched medieval towns. From a photography point of view, spring or autumn is the perfect time of the year. During the spring, the landscape is green and many flowers are in bloom. The mist often rises in the early morning which lends a sense of mysticism to the landscape. During the autumn, photographers are also treated to a range of beautiful spots that are perfect to photograph. The fields display beautiful golden-brown tones, the trees wear their autumn finery, beautiful banks of cloud roll by and there are often fantastic light conditions.
We will explore various aspects of photography in a relaxed atmosphere and spend a lot of time photographing the countless motifs that the region has to offer. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and advanced photographers. Thanks to the small group size, we can cater to individual needs.
We will of course photograph in the best light during the Tuscany photo tour. This means that we will be on the move early in the morning and during the late afternoon. In between we will have time for critique sessions, tutorials and, of course, for a typical Italian siesta!

In spring, everything is lush green and the first flowers are in bloom. There is also a good chance of fog in the valleys in spring. The region comes to life and the tourists slowly return in large numbers.
All pictures were taken in April/May.
Autumn arrives much later in Tuscany than it does here in Switzerland. In our experience, the best time to travel is November. This is the time when the chances are particularly high for mystical foggy atmospheres. The landscape is characterised by golden brown and green colours. The days are short and the sunrise and sunset take place at pleasant times. There are also few tourists on the road at this time of year.

The enchanting Tuscany in late autumn, the picturesque villages and small towns of the region, the unmistakable charm of "Bella Italia" in culture and gastronomy and the perfect organisation and support by Amazing Views / Jenny from start to finish. In other words: This photo tour is simply not to be missed. It is a "must" for every photo enthusiast and landscape lover.
Great locations. Good group size. In the right place at the right time. Always an answer to questions about motifs, technique or picture ideas. A nice group of fellow photographers and all-round carefree photo support and organisation by Jenny. All this in combination with delicious Italian cuisine in hand-picked restaurants - what more could you want? Thank you, Jenny!
After you have made your own way to Pienza, we will meet at the hotel in late afternoon. After a short introduction, we will set off straight away for our first photo session. You will be transferred to each location with our own minibus. You can simply enjoy yourself and do not have to worry about a thing.
We will set off before sunrise in order to be at our chosen location in good time. Most of the subjects that we will photograph are located in the close vicinity and can be reached within a 30 to 40 minute drive maximum. After we have spent a considerable amount of time photographing, we will return to the hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, you will have some free time to relax or explore the surrounding area. At lunch time, you have the option of going out for a bite to eat together in the idyllic town of Pienza.
After lunch we will have time for short tutorials on selected topics (e.g. technical basics, composition, long exposure or the workflow for image editing in Lightroom) or image discussions. Afterwards, we will set off on another photo session.
Dinner will take place in accordance with the lighting and weather conditions either before, between or after the photo session.
The photo workshop ends after breakfast and you will now make your way home or continue with your own travel plans.
On this photo tour we stay in a small and family-run hotel, which is located directly next to the old town of pretty Pienza. Pienza is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and only a few steps away from our accommodation you will find photogenic alleys, small pretty shops with regional specialities and imposing Italian architecture.
The rooms of our hotel are designed in Tuscan style and comfortably furnished. They offer a bathroom with shower, a minibar, safe, desk and air conditioning.
From the hotel’s terrace you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the Val d’Orcia. When the weather is nice, the lovingly prepared breakfast is also served here. You will start the day with an Italian espresso or cappuccino and numerous fine homemade delicacies such as freshly baked bread, various cakes and even local delicacies such as regional pecorino. In the evening, the hotel’s bar serves fine drinks and cold cuts with a magnificent view.
