This one-week photography tour takes you to the north-west of Europe, to Wales. Wales is not big, but it is full of surprises and is a wonderful region. The country is characterised by its unique Welsh language and Celtic culture.
You will spend six nights in a selected accommodation near Snowdonia National Park and discover the Northwest of Wales including the coastal region of Anglesey.
Snowdonia National Park is the heart of North Wales. Snowdonia is the oldest of the three national parks in Wales and this impressive mountainous region shows you the country at its most pristine. The coastal region of Anglesey is considered a top photo spot in the UK.
The travel time of the trip is perfect for the autumn colours of Wales. On this photo tour you will experience varied landscapes and spectacular photo highlights far away from the tourist crowds. Get inspired by idyllic lakes and rivers, rugged coastal areas, rugged mountains, breath-taking rock formations and much more. You will be thrilled.
Benefit from our local photo guide Nick Hanson, who knows Wales inside out. The best photo spots are guaranteed on this photo tour.

The trip is not particularly physically demanding. However, you should be fit enough to take part in short, moderate walks on the local hiking trails and be sure-footed. The hiking trails in Wales (if they exist at all) can be somewhat uneven or boggy in places, as they usually lead through moorland and heathland or along streams and ravines. Many photo locations are easily accessible by car or a short hike. Certain locations may involve a walking time of around 1 hour per route. The hiking trails are mostly on flat terrain or involve a slight incline.
Fancy a photo detour to an abandoned slate mine? (A little strenuous, but very interesting.) Or would you prefer a filigree cast-iron pier as a photo subject? (Opened in 1878 and no less than 376 metres long.) Are you interested in windswept lighthouses? Or rather a mighty castle from the 13th century? The very varied photo tour "Wales and Snowdonia" has it all. On top of that, there is a diverse landscape to marvel at, babbling brooks, and, and, and. I really appreciate the fact that I learnt a lot thanks to the always patient and professional photographic support. A big thank you for all the suggestions and tips, especially to Jenny, but also to Nick. Photography is fun!
Travelling to North Wales in November is a daring combination. But for a photographer it was a paradise, we had extreme weather but also just as much luck. The capricious weather resulted in great moods and excellent pictures. For me, it was a great and successful trip. Superbly organised and with Jenny and Nick two guides who led us through all situations and to the most beautiful spots. It was nice that we only stayed in one hotel. This made travelling more relaxed as we didn not have to pack again and again. Conclusion: a successful trip, great pictures, pleasant acquaintances.

In Wales, the probability of experiencing all four seasons in one day is quite high. It is precisely these rapidly changing weather conditions that can be extremely exciting for photographing the landscapes. Fantastic lighting moods are created, and the shots immediately take on more drama.
November is a great month to explore North Wales photographically. On the one hand, the weather is particularly changeable now, which can make for fantastic light moods, and on the other hand, sunrise and sunset take place at very pleasant times. Temperatures during the day are between 5 – 10 degrees.

To ensure that you can capture images at the right time with the right light in the golden and blue hours, we will be out and about for around 4 hours each, especially at sunrise and sunset times. In between, you will have time at your own disposal to rest a little, explore the surroundings or, if you wish, take part in image discussions and tutorials.
We strongly advise you to purchase insurance for cancellation and return journey costs, which will be needed in the event of a secluded region being evacuated, a local hospital stay or return travel costs to your home country.
