The month of March is perfect for exploring Scotland photographically. On the one hand, the weather is particularly changeable now, which can make for fantastic lighting moods. The sun is also lower at this time of year than in summer, so you can also capture wonderful landscape shots during the day. Another plus point: sunrise and sunset take place at very pleasant times. Temperatures during the day are between 7 and 13 degrees. There are no annoying midges in March and you can take photos undisturbed.

Stunning nature and fantastic light showed me the beauty of the Isle of Skye and brought me a lot of joy and satisfaction with the superbly organised trip to the north of Scotland. I never thought I would be able to take such beautiful photos. This is of course thanks to our photo leader Nick, who contributed with a lot of local knowledge and many years of photographic experience. Although it was an intensive few days, I would recommend the trip to anyone.

The trip is not particularly physically demanding. However, you should be fit enough to take part in short, moderate walks on the local hiking trails and be sure-footed. The hiking trails in Scotland (if they exist at all) can be somewhat uneven or boggy in places, as they usually lead through moorland and heathland or along streams and ravines. Many photo locations are easily accessible by car or a short hike.
Certain locations may involve a walking time of around 1 hour per route. The hiking trails are mostly on flat terrain or involve an incline.
In order that you can capture photos at the right time with the right light during the early hours and twilight, we will be out and about for around four hours particularly around the hours of sunrise and sunset.
You then have some time available during the morning and afternoon to rest, catch up on sleep, explore the surrounding area or take part in image critiques and tutorials if you so wish.
Single travellers can book half of a double room. If there is no other guest who wants to share the room, the single room surcharge will apply.
We strongly advise you to purchase insurance for cancellation and return journey costs, which will be needed in the event of a secluded region being evacuated, a local hospital stay or return travel costs to your home country.
